I was not sure what to expect but knew I needed to regain focus/vision to forge ahead in my PhD program.

The theme I went in with was a need for balance in my life, and Gretchen totally facilitated my ability to clearly see what I need to do to accomplish this balance in all areas.

Nurturing the Body + Soul for Healing

Welcome to a space dedicated to the sacred journey of healing.

You're ready to heal and want some ideas to create a deep sense of connection with that healing. As a seasoned somatic trauma specialist and energetic intuitive, I invite you to join me in discovering some of my favorite practices that harmonize the body and soul.

Somatic Grounding Rituals

Grounding is a foundational practice for trauma survivors for fostering a sense of safety and stability. When you create a feeling of stability and support from within, nothing outside of yourself can shake you.

Rooting Meditation

  •  Find a quiet space, sit comfortably, and focus on your breath.
  •  Visualize roots extending from your body into the earth, grounding you in its nurturing support.
  •  Affirm your connection to the present moment and your inherent strength.

Body Scan with Affirmations

  •  Lie down and systematically scan your body, bringing awareness and relaxation to each part.
  •  With each breath, send love and healing energy to different areas, repeating affirmations of safety and resilience, like:

"It is safe for me to release. I let go."

Spiritual Reconnection Practices

Cultivating a connection with your spirituality can be a transformative aspect of the healing journey.

Candlelight Reflection

  •  Light a candle in a quiet space.
  •  As you watch the flame, reflect on the innate light within you. Acknowledge your inner strength and the resilience that guides your path. Imagine the flame 'burning away' anything you no longer wish to carry within you.

Sacred Object Meditation

  •  Choose an object with personal significance like a crystal or a gift from a loved one.
  •  Hold it in your hands, focusing on its energy and the memories it holds. Allow your connection to remind you of your own resilience by embracing the thought that you are still here, even after all that you've been through, just like the object in your hand.

Energetic Release Ceremonies

Releasing stored energy and emotions is crucial for healing. These rituals provide a channel for expression.

Writing to Release

  •  Set aside time to write down your feelings without judgment.
  •  Once written, consider burning the paper as a symbolic release of emotions, allowing them to transform into healing energy.

Movement Liberation

  •  Engage in free-form movement, allowing your body to express itself without inhibition.
  •  As you move, visualize releasing stored tension and trauma, making space for renewed energy. The more expressive your movements, the more you release.

Mindful Self-Care Practices

Nurturing the self is an integral aspect of healing. These rituals emphasize self-compassion and care.

Nourishing Tea Ceremony

  •  Brew a cup of your favorite tea mindfully.
  •  As you sip, savor the warmth, allowing it to permeate your being. Reflect on the act of nourishing yourself and allow the good feelings to flow naturally.

Try this savory Ayurvedic tea blend. Combine:

  • 1 tsp whole Coriander Seeds
  • 1 tsp whole Fennel Seeds
  • 1 tsp whole Cumin Seeds

Add tea blend and boiling water to your favorite tea steeper and steep for 3-5 minutes. Enjoy!

Loving Touch Meditation

  •   Sit comfortably and place your hands over your heart or any area that needs comfort.
  •   Send love and compassion through your touch, acknowledging the resilience within.

Incorporate these rituals into your healing journey at your own pace, allowing each practice to unfold its unique gifts. Remember, dear survivor, you are not alone on this path. May these healing rituals serve as gentle companions, guiding you towards a renewed sense of wholeness.

With love and support,

Gretchen
