I was not sure what to expect but knew I needed to regain focus/vision to forge ahead in my PhD program.

The theme I went in with was a need for balance in my life, and Gretchen totally facilitated my ability to clearly see what I need to do to accomplish this balance in all areas.

The 6 Essential People You Need In Your Healing Network

Build A Network That Promotes Healing

Finding the right people - whether in your personal or professional relationships - who can fill these six vital roles within your healing network can be life-changing, offering guidance, support, and companionship along the way.

1. Counselor or Therapist

This first one might seem obvious, but don't overlook the importance of being selective when seeking a therapist. It's essential to consider their expertise in trauma-informed care.

Whether you opt for traditional therapy or trauma-focused therapy, ensure your therapist understands trauma and can provide a safe space for healing.

2. Mutual Resilience Friend

This family member, friend, or neighbor is your steadfast companion in times of need, offering unwavering support, compassion, and understanding. Together, you weather life's storms, sharing burdens, and celebrating triumphs.

For those who are not partnered, this role becomes even more critical, providing a vital source of support.

3. Joyful Companion

When you're in the middle of healing, it can be easy to forget the importance of joy and laughter.

The joyful companion is the friend or family member who reminds you to enjoy life's simple pleasures and find levity even during difficult times. They bring out the playfulness within you and allow your heart to feel free and light.

4. Health Coach or Motivating Friend

This person might be a hired professional or a friend who serves as a beacon of motivation and inspiration for maintaining physical well-being without making you feel bad or yucky.

Whether it's a pilates teacher, an ayurvedic practitioner, or simply a health-oriented friend, having someone who uplifts and supports your healthy lifestyle choices can be incredibly empowering.

5. Spiritual Guide

For those walking a spiritual path, a high-level guide can offer beautiful insight, support, and guidance.

Whether through meditation, exploring higher consciousness, or deeping your knowledge of ancient wisdom, they help you go further into your spiritual connection and navigate the mysteries of your journey on a soul level.

6. Role Model or Mentor

Having a role model or mentor who embodies the qualities you aspire to can be incredibly inspiring. This person may have been where you are now and has progressed to a place that you would like to work towards yourself, in your own way and pace.

A mentor can offer wisdom, guidance, and encouragement as you continue to grow and evolve.

While each of these people can play a unique and vital part in your healing journey, it's important to remember that you can't expect just one person to fulfill all of these roles for you.

Building a diverse support network ensures that you have the resources and support you need at different stages of your healing journey.

Keep in mind - while it may not always feel good - it's crucial to evaluate your relationships and set healthy boundaries to be sure they positively contribute to your well-being. Remember that you ARE worthy of love, support, and healing.

The right people for your healing network are out there; align your heart and mind to what you want and they will find their way to you.

With so much love and support,

The holiday season can be a beautiful time of celebration and connection, but it can also bring a whirlwind of pressure to spend, acquire, and consume.
